The food here is awesome, which is a bad thing because I'm sure I'm going to be gaining weight. Some friends and I are planning on going out this three-day weekend to go buy some stuff, so hopefully I'll be able to buy some running shoes by then. It's kind of sad though that while others are going home for the long weekend, I'll be stuck here lamenting that I live far far away from Pennsylvania. Ah well, that's life, yes?
I'm missing home a little, but I'm enduring. :) I've made lots of SoCal friends, not so much NorCal though. But Californians are Californians. Meeting so many people though has only made me realize more and more how wonderful my home life is. All of my SoCal friends come from poor neighborhoods and were only introduced to this college through a special outreach program. We google mapped all our houses, and to say the least, their houses were tiny compared to mine. For books, etc. for college, my friends have to rely on money from outside sources while I mindlessly use my parents' credit cards.
It's times likes these when I really realize for sure how amazingly blessed my life has been.
What amazes me is that even if we have class differences, we can still be such awesome friends. We joke about how much money I have and stuff, but in the end, we're still the same, and we're all on equal grounds here at Bryn Mawr.
I'd like to recount what I've been doing these past few weeks, but life's getting kind of hectic. Instead, I'll just share some of the pictures of my private life here at Bryn Mawr. :)

The entry into the second hall of Pem West, the dorm building I'm staying at. This building's pretty old. In our rooms, there are little name plates of past residences, and it goes all the way to the 1800s.

Our common room. We have one side room connected on either side of this room. I like our dorm very much. :) One of my roommates, Sarah, and I have desks in the common room. The others have their desks in the side rooms where our beds are located.

My desk. Please excuse the messiness. However hard I try to make it neat, it always ends up like this. This is actually after I put away stuff and such... It kind of makes me emo how messy my desk is compared to my roommate's...

A closer look to my messy desk...

I caught my roommate, Sarah unawares when I snapped this shot, to say the least she was not pleased.

Even as college students, we're still not very mature. We had a picture-taking battle. I think I won. 8D

My closet, also located in the common room. Possibly the cleanest/neatest thing I have here because I actually try to take care of my clothes.

This is one of the side rooms, the one I'm rooming in with Sarah and Tiffany, my other roommate. Notice how neat Sarah's bed is compared to the other two. I blame my messiness on the fact that I got the top bunk, so it's hard to reach. :(

A closer look to my bed. I really like the sheets. I think I'm going through another purple phase...

I brought four stuffed animals with me, a Turtwig, a penguin, my tiger, and a Torterra which is supposed to be a VERY late birthday present for a friend who is currently going to college in Pittsburgh. (Can you spot my Torterra in the previous pictures?) I realized that Pittsburgh is very far from where I am right now. D8

Picture to keep me from getting homesick. Ironically enough, none of them are pictures of my parents or dog. But I <3 my friends from back home. :)
Also, things have been pretty hectic on the Haverford College grounds. (Haverford is Bryn Mawr's brother/sister college... thing.)
Last night, there was a college party. And like all college parties, there was alcohol. Long story short, police came in and gave citations to lots of people. This is actually really uncommon though from what I've heard. Apparently, the policed weren't even campus police but state police and they were looking for high school kids that said they were going to the party on facebook. Lots of acquaintances/friends got citations that night...
Earlier this morning, a car exploded in Haverford's parking lot. A man in his mid-50s was in that car and passed away in the incident. There's not much information on that... They say he had no connection to Haverford or Bryn Mawr College.
Also, Parade Night's tonight. It's where freshman run down some road, get pelted by water balloons from the sophomores, and get pelted by candy from the juniors, while the seniors just watch. (Someone told me usually the seniors get so drunk they can barely stand before Parade Night, so it's actually really funny to see them...) But I'm really worried about the candy. Those juniors better not throw hard candy at me... :x
